No walk today but the car needed a run out, I needed to go somewhere to test my new camera and, to be honest, I just needed some fresh air. Got a bit more than I bargained for on the freshness side but it was good to get out :-)
Due to lack of petrol funds yet again, I decided to have a drive up to the Muggleswick Common area and take a few photos with the new camera. Only about 20 miles from where I live but takes about 40 mins to get there. Excellent driving route though provided the roads are ice free....and they were :-)
Anyway, the drive was enjoyed and it felt great to be up on the moorland, driving through the wonderful scenery. Reached a viewpoint for Smiddy Shaw Reservoir, stopped the car and attempted a few shots with the new camera....
Took a few more shots of the surrounding area......
Just messing about with the zoom and things on the camera really but I soon realised that it was absolutely bloomin freezing up here and I'd forgotten my gloves! So I quickly jumped back in the car and drove a little further down the road to a parking spot on the Waskerley Way. Out of the car again for a few more photos....
At this point my fingers were just about frozen but I really wanted to take a look at Waskerley Reservoir too. I had planned to walk the fairly short distance from the parking spot to the Reservoir but it was so cold I decided my best option was to drive to a viewpoint. I'm glad I did....definitely and area I'd like to return to for a proper (fairly local) walk on a warmer day. A few photos of Waskerley Reservoir.....
A bit of a shame that I didn't even get a little walk done but, I think the camera performed OK and at least I got a couple of hours out.
Hope to get out on a proper walk soon and I will attempt to keep the blog up to date this year! :-)
